Basics

What is Pliant MCP?

A server that lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex work with your Pliant organization, using your permissions. It is built for owners, admins and finance teams. See Pliant MCP Overview.

How is it different from the API?

MCP is built for AI agents that choose their own tool calls. The REST API is for code with fixed logic.

What is the difference between Pliant MCP and Pliant MCP Pro?

Pliant MCP covers everyday admin and finance work and is coming soon to the Claude and ChatGPT directories. Pliant MCP Pro is for customers who want specialized tools, for example issuing cards. It is in early access: reach out to Pliant support and we make it visible on your Modules page. See the overview.

What is the Pliant Developer MCP?

A separate server that lets your coding assistant look up the reference of the Pliant Program API (one server) or the Payment API (another server), so it knows which endpoints exist and how they are structured. It does not access your Pliant data. See Pliant Developer MCP.

How do I get access to the Developer MCP?

Reach out to Pliant support. If you are integrating with Pliant, your solution engineer will also share it with you.

My AI tool is not on your list. Will it work?

Probably, if it supports remote MCP servers. Reach out to Pliant support and tell us which tool you use. We will take a look.

Permissions and access

The agent can only see and do what the connected person can already do in Pliant. Never more.

What can the agent access?

Only what the connected person can already access in Pliant. See Access and Permissions.

Can I enable it for specific people?

Not yet. It is on or off for the whole organization. Results follow each person's role in Pliant.

How do I revoke access?

Disconnect in Pliant (My Account > Security and Devices > MCP Connections), in your AI tool, or have an admin deactivate the module.

Data and security

Full card numbers, CVV and PIN are never shown to the agent.

How is data processed?

Data read through MCP goes to your AI tool and its model provider, under their terms. Pliant also sees what is written through MCP.

Could it change my organization's setup?

It can manage teams, members and accounting reference data if your role allows it. It cannot change organization-wide settings, card programs or user access rules. Changes appear in your activity history.

Can it move money or change a card?

It cannot move money, top up accounts, issue, replace or terminate cards. If your role allows it, it can lock or unlock a card and change limits and controls on an existing card.

Does it show full card numbers?

No. Full card numbers, CVV and PIN are never returned.

What it can do

What use cases are covered?

Searching transactions, cards, members and teams. Exact counts for review, receipt and export status. Coding, splitting and supplier assignment. Receipts. Spend analysis. Teams, members and accounting reference data. See Example Use Cases.

Can it find missing receipts?

Yes. It can list transactions without receipts and show a specific receipt.

Will you add more tools?

Yes. We are adding tools in bundles, for example card requests and approvals, receipt management, statements and review actions.

Is there a command line tool?

Setup and compatibility

Which AI tools work?

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code with Copilot, Codex CLI and Antigravity CLI. Any client that supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers also works. See Set Up Pliant MCP.

Is it in the Claude or ChatGPT directory?

Not yet listed. For now you add it as a custom connector in each. Once listed, you pick it from the directory and skip the credentials step.

What do I need to connect?

The server URL, plus a Client ID (and a Client Secret for Claude and ChatGPT). They are shown in Pliant, or you can contact support.

Can I use it with a custom agent or model?

Yes, if your client supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers. Your organization may restrict which MCP servers you can connect.

Pricing

What does it cost?

For now, Pliant MCP is included in our standard and custom plans. If you have questions about your plan, reach out to Pliant.

Troubleshooting

Sign-in fails immediately.

You may have an existing Pliant session open in your browser. Open https://login.getpliant.com/v2/logout and try again.

"Callback URL mismatch".

See the setup notes for your tool. For ChatGPT, send the callback URL it shows to support.

The agent says a capability is not available.

Check that an admin activated the module and that your role allows the action. If both are fine, contact support with the exact prompt and the error text.
